Pod just raised his hand as if willing to talk. Edwyn could wait, there was a queue, couldn't he see. Don't they teach manners in the stormlands?

Gerold looked at Baratheon. "Please, remain calm, Lord Baratheon. Have you been listening to what I have been saying? I was the hand of Tyrell so I could gain his absolute trust. And I waited a year because I needed to wait for the correct moment. Informing you right away would have done little. If you have any concerns, by all means tell us, but if you do, please do so without unneeded wroth."

Trajan's violet eyes turned to Lord Edwyn, a hand raised to silence the murmurings of the court.
"We appreciate your service Lord Baratheon, though it was the minimum that you owed this court on your oath. This man's actions, though not without fault, saved the lives of thousands of Stormlanders and Crownlanders alike. It is not an easy thing to betray your liege lord for you king."
"You have been rewarded for your services with a place on the small council and will be rewarded still, but do not question our judgement in these halls again. Our decision stands. Lord Hightower will be Hand to the King and you will respect him as such."

"More lies Hightower?" snarled Edwyn. He turned to Trajan.
"I was present at both parleys with these traitors, Lord Regent. It was Hightower at the first parley that opened with insults and then a proposal for a Southern Kingdom, of which he would be Hand. They soiled their small-clothes when Commander Markar summoned the dragon - him and Lannister both. I believe it was only then - and only then - they saw the folly of their ways and sought to save their own positions by bringing about the death of their 'liege lord" the traitor Tyrell. Ask Markar for the truth of my words. He was there as well. Hightower's 'loyalty' - such as it is - is only to himself."
(OOC: This was said before Trajan's response).

Podrick grumbled and whispered to Grafton in a mocking tone. "I think we're going to stay here for some time..."

He swept his hand towards the remaining lords. "Please continue."

Gerold looked at Baratheon, calm as ever in the face of his Storm. "An act is an act. I played my part. It is true that I have little like of you, but that has little to do with your allegiance and more with the fact that you were the one at that parlay who most desired to use the dragon. Your all-out hatred and focus on war has cost this realm much. Nevertheless, I am able to put aside my dislike and work with you. I hope that you will be able to do the same."

A dark faced Edwyn snorted in derision at the Coldeye's words.
"Indeed my lord. An act is an act. And as ever you are playing your part well." he said curtly.
He held up an hand. "The Lord Regent wishes to proceed, so in deference to him I will say no more on the matter at this time."

With an exasperated sigh, the lord regent called Baelish forward, with a last critical glance at his already bickering small council.

Courtly Podrick went to the center of the room. He gave a bow and said. "My Lord Regent, this may not be the best time but I and Lord Grafton, come before youo speak for the best of the Vale, unfortunately bringing grievances about our liege."

He nudged his way to the front of the crowd. He wore a doublet of red and white bearing the griffins of his House. He ran a hand through his red hair and eased himself. He wasn't in war anymore, he was in King's Landing and soon to be Commander of the Gold Cloaks.

(Alright delete all the OOC comments folks so we can clear the clutter. Connington, you have not yet been named commander, but your name can be recommended for the position at the next small council meeting.)
"Make your grievances known then, Lord Podrick." Trajan replied.

"As you must know, my Lord Trajan, since the beginning of his power Lord Damon has had a difficult path among his vassals, some even called him a kinslayer and others told stories about him having fondness for... thing not tolarated most religions, that I'd rather not speak of. But I always trusted that he would accomplish to be as sucsseful rule as his father was..." He gave a pause.
"But for almost a year, since the Usurper's uprising, I haven't heard a word of him. Letters, I've sent to the Eyrie and no answer came back, so during 'war' I had to move independently with the help of Lord Grafton, to aid the Crown."
"He neglects his duties as a liege, some of his vassals have passed need and yet no word came from the Eyrie. And as it seems, my Lord Regent, no word came from him yet for you, when all the Lord Paramount are already here..." Pod cleared his throat.
"I'm here to have your judgement, for mine is already done: He is not fit for a ruler much less Lord Paramount of a region as prosperous (lol) as the Vale."
