She bowed to her lady, and exited the room without a backward glance. The window was left open though, and the gulls over the harbor could still be heard this late at night.

"I fear your rule of the Seven Kingdoms may be under some threat my lady." said Edwyn. "The King appears to be occupied with other matters and certain lords speak of what I believe to be treason. I have come to ask you to intercede with the King and act now."

Aelinor couldn't beleive her ears, the words treason hit her hard,"Lord Baratheon, are you sure? I have done nothing, Aelix has done nothing.... We just came into rule, we have not even been given a chance to make any progress..."
Her heart began pounding quickly,"And intercede with the King, he is even too busy for his own wife. I am unable to speak for him at this point." Aelinor held her stomach and cletched her jaw,"Lord Baratheon, I know from our forefathers and the past the Stags of Storm's End has had no loveloss for the Targaryens..."
She looked at him,"But I need your loyalty and feilty to me and my unborn, if something unfortunate happens to our King... Can you do that and be atleast one Lord I can trust with my life?" Her stare was full of pleads and concern as she stared into the dark eyes of the Staglord.
"Your answer or no... Because with this news from you, I feel that there is more at work behind the scenes than what we both know."

"Our forefathers may have had no love for each other, but I myself bear no love for the Tyrells. It is not the Targaryens I have been fighting for these last twenty five years. It is the Lord of Highgarden that speaks treason." said Edwyn firmly.
"You have the loyalty of the Stormlands, Queen Aelinor. And I hope in return the Stormlands have the support of the King."

The weight of the world lifted as she heard his words, she nodded,"You will have the support of the Dragons, be it the King or myself, the Queen."
She sighed,"And Lord Baratheon, if our king is unfortunate in this act of treason and he dies at the hands of our aggressors, the Stormlands will still have the support of the Dragons from myself and my children."
Aelinor stood from her chair and looked up at the large man,"I give your my word as the Queen of Kings Landing. You will be supported, Lord Barantheon."

Edwyn bowed his head in acknowledgment.
"The King must act and act now Your Grace. If he cannot then he must appoint someone who can."

"I can do that myself.."She looked at him,"Who would recommend, Lord Baratheon? I have my cousin in mind."

"The Blackfyre?" said Edwyn doubtfully. "You can trust him?"

She nodded,"He is my blood, even if it is Blackfyre. I trust him, but would be your suggestion?" Aelinor stared at him,"What can I do for you that will put your mind at ease regarding my support?"

"The Blackfyre will be Hand then? Instead of Victor Blackwood?" replied Edwyn.
He thought for a moment.
"Dismiss Robert Rowan as Master of Laws. He is a Reachman and tainted by his lord's treachery. Put men on the Small Council who will support you such as myself. Appoint the Blackfyre as Hand and myself as Master of Laws."

Aelinor nodded,"Alright, you can be Master of Laws, I am sure my cousin will be fine as the Hand." She then thought,"I have to find a way to get the council together, so that we are strong to enforce the rule." She looked at him,"What of Prince Martell? Are you close to him? Do you think he would swear to me as well?"
Her violet eyes searching his again,"I do not care what God that you serve, I only care is if I can trust him as you do?"

"Ordinarily I would have no hesitation in recommending Prince Edric to you. Lannister informs me however that a marriage alliance between his House and that of House Martell is about to be struck." said Edwyn with a disapproving tone to his voice.
"I have no evidence that Lannister has traitorous intentions, but after twenty five years of war, it is difficult to like the man. He may be genuinely after peace. However to be sure of Prince Edric's binding to the Crown perhaps an alternative offer should be made to him."

"An alternative offer? I have none except a seat on the council." She shrugs,"My sister has proclaimed herself to the Lead of the Faith, she can not marry at this point."
"My bargaining chips are gone, all of my other female relatives are married. I do not posses the coffers of the Lannisters either. What could I possibly offer him that would sway him?"

"Mayhap your uncle Aenar or your cousin Aemon Targaryen." replied Edwyn.
"Royal Targaryens as husbands for daughters and sisters are not be easily rejected. Indeed I would offer one of my own daughters as a bride for either. Prince Edric may also."

The queen nodded at his suggestion,"Fine.. It shall be done, my family to his and if necessary your family as well." She looked out of the window at the night sky,"This is my journey now, not Aelix's..."
She then looked at him,"Do what you must, get this plan moving and we shall win the day."
