She nodded slowly,"I fully understand that.."
"I just wanted this to be at a more... Happier time. Aelix and I have earned our titles through this public, unexpected and intentional murder of our father."
As she looked at Trajan, her violet eyes were clear and no longer tearful. "I want to know how it could have happened, and I have a feeling you can tell me, cousin. I am sure you may have seen something such as this in your travels."

Trajan considered the question for a moment, deciding how much to reveal.
"I've seen something of the sort on my travels." he admitted as if hazy on the subject. "It's an advanced form of sorcery called shadowbinding...equal parts dangerous and powerful. Common practitioners are those from Asshai and priests of the Red God, but I did not believe anyone was capable of the magnitude we saw at the wedding."

She nodded... Aelinor stated at him,"Teach me..." Her eyes turned a slight darker shade of violet.
"Teach me what you know, so that I will understand."

"I cannot teach that which I do not know." he lied easily. "I do not know what rumors you have heard about me. I heard tales in my travels, but am no sorcerer."
"Even if I was, such dark gifts are nothing to pass onto a young princess...excuse me, queen. It would be...corruptible."

Aelinor just stared at him, still feeling the death of her father on her heart. "I don't want to be seen as corrupt, I just want to find out who did this to him."
"It seems like the Dornish or the Red Priests are going to be blamed", she looked at him,"But if they wanted revenge for what happened at the peace talks, why not attack Aelix? He is the future king." Aelinor sat down on the end of her bed and started staring out of her window. "Or even me, for that matter. I am truly vexed..."
"It makes no sense, at all... None at all."

"Well that is the heart of the matter." Trajan said, sitting beside his troubled cousin. "Who benefits from the two of you on the throne? Who stood to lose the most if your father continued to reign?"

She looked at him,"In truth, no one wants our House to rule, they hate our traditions.." She frowned,"I do not see any real reason, Aelix is our father's son, except for his temper. When he is angry, he moves without thinking."
"I do not know, Trajan, maybe the Dornish, or maybe the Baratheons...."Shaking her head again,"It would be an advantage to approach Aelix to sway him, since he is younger than all of the lords of these lands."

"A young king is more easily manipulated." Trajan admitted. "Perhaps it is someone even closer. Someone on the council even."

"I have no idea, right now, but I am sure it is not my uncle Markar,"she frowned,"But if bringing these lands towards peace is their aim, I will be happy." Aelinor looked at him, "This land needs peace in such turbulent times, especially since the last war has just ended."

"I have found that blood is rarely shed for the sake of peace." Trajan said with a smirk. "Whoever is responsible, I feel this was just the first move of a long game of cyvasse."

"I have always had a bit of distain for that game", she sighed. "What do of you, cousin? Which would you prefer to rule these Lords, peace or fear?" The queen looked at him,"which would help us keep our kingdom more effectively?"
She then placed a hand on midsection,"I wonder...." Looking at him again,"Would it be so awful to have separate kingdoms with the collective paying homage to Kings Landing? Would that be so awful?"
"They would have the power to govern themselves, but answer to a Grand High King."

"A wise man once told me it it is better to be feared than to be loved, if you cannot be both." Trajan replied, considering his response carefully. "Do not be naive, dear cousin. If you grant such liberties to the lords, you may be loved, but will be seen as weak. Your peace would not last, as your new kings would begin to wonder why they need a High King at all and clamor to take from eachother or us. The dragons keep the peace through fear, as they did when Aegon the Conqueror and his sisters took these lands. Fire and blood keeps the order."

"Yes, fire and blood",Aelinor nodded, remembering their words, then smiled lightly,"I have spent too much time with my nose in books for too long, Trajan... I need to see more of our lands and the people, if I am to understand them when they come to approach my husband."
"Aelix will want me to be strong and not have idealistic ideas of such things as segregated kingdoms and High Kings.' Aelinor smiled at him,"I am glad that you have returned... We should catch up on things besides discussing the affairs of Kings Landing."
"Also, do think it would be wise for me to have someone guarding, more closely..."looking at him,"with what happened to father and I know that Aelix will not be around me all the time. Do you think it would be best?"

"The Kingsguard are here to protect you as well. Keep one near your person at all times and no earthly threat would dare trouble. For protection against sorcery, you might have to look elsewhere." he replied.
"I would enjoy discussing less grave matters. Much has changed since I departed." he added, eyes lingering on Aelinor's form as if to emphasise the point. "It seems strange that my cousins have grown from children into men and women in my absence."

She smiled, as she noticed him noticing her,"Yes much has changed... And you are right when you left we all were mere children in the sight of our father." Aelinor slightly blushed,"But we all have matured in some ways."
"I do not mean having Kingsguard as a constant, I mean someone who can be will me at ALL times. Kingsguard can't do that.", She smiled,"I don't think Aelix would mind it that much, do you, because I have someone in mind already...'
