He poured him a glass and himself one. He sipped it conservatively. "Am I a good lord, Randon?"

Randon took a sip of his own cup. "Given the circumstances in which you rose to your lordship I think you've done a fine job. You hadn't prepared for your Lordship like others, but when it was thrust upon you, you rose up to the task. You're a great lord! You have kept your people safe and they love you. All you can do is do what's best for your people."
With that Randon finished up his cup. "How about another cup?"

He sipped at his cup. "My brothers, two dead and one a maester in service to House Tully. Mari is married to Oakheart." he spat. "My family is falling apart."

"Hmm, war does that. I fear we may yet see more loss. But, can this war be avoided? It seems to like someone in the Red Church is pushing for war, even going as far as killing the king! The Red Church should be eradicated from Westeros." Lord Tarly looked into the fire. "Fire, it only burns and consumes. And the Red Church is a flame that should have been put out long ago."

He poured Lord Tarly another cup of wine. "Fire is also life and keeps the cold away. Do you want war? Answer me true."

Randon took his cup and drank. "Not so much as want, but I see it as necessary. I came to Kings Landing to see if peace could be attained. Now I'm beginning to think that as long as the Red Church is in Westeros peace cannot be achieved. With the King dead I wonder if the young dragon will think the same."

He drained his glass and threw it against the wall. "Clean it up." he said to a servant. He stood and looked at Tarly. "It is night. Go look for Arsilen." He turned to the fire and watched it.

A humble knock came to the door, along with the sloshing sound of wine.

He turned to the knock. Tarly had already left, who could it be? He motioned to a servant who opened the door. "My lady, come in." he beckoned.

Ashara smiled at him, taking a swig of Arbor Gold. She warmed her hands by the fire. "My lord. It has been a long time since I last saw you. You were young, and tired from the war that had taken two brothers. Your stature has changed since, but you still have the same expression. I can see it in your face. You're still weary." She waved a hand at a servant for more wine.

"Aye," he admitted. "I am still weary, but soon everything will be right. My brothers and uncles and my father and everyone else will soon be avenged." He turned to her. "What do you want? War? Peace?"

She accepted the wine and sniffed it. "Dornish Red? Pah! Bring me gold." She turned from the fire to Tyrell. "I was going to ask you what you wanted, but you already answered that question it seems. Do you wish to go to war once more?"

"Doesn't matter to me. We have the men and supplies. We have commanders and diplomats. Highborn prudes ripe for marrying for alliances. I have consulted near all my banner men, or in your case women, on the matter. Hightower for peace and Tarly for war. We could use your drunken wisdom, crone." he poured a glass of Arbor Gold.

"Old women never advise battle, but it may be inevitable in this case. A swift end to a war might save more lives than vying for peace." She looked at him. "But I would not trust your bannermen. When I spoke to them at the capital, I saw much. Tarly is driven by hate, and Hightower... he is searching for something, and he may never find it, but I would not trust him as well. Either of them would turn on you in a heartbeat if it served their interests."

He stepped toward her. "No they wouldn't you old bat. Tarly's a cousin and Hightower's a friend. The wine has gotten to your tongue."
