The Godswood at the Red Keep is an acre of elm, alder and black cottonwood trees that overlook the Blackwater Rush. The heart tree is a great oak, whose limbs have become overgrown with smokeberry vines.

Ashara Redwyne hobbled into the Godswood, a flagon of Arbor Gold by her side. She addressed the Blackfyre man to her left "Greetings, My Lord." She took a gulp.

Trajan turned his attention from the smokeberry vines growing to embrace the great oak in a stranglehold, his violet eyes resting on the old woman that had disturbed his peace.
"Good morning.' he said with a cold smile. "I'm afraid I've not yet had the pleasure. You are?"

"Somewhat drunk. But you may call me Ashara. Or Lady Redwyne, if you believe in courtesy." She took another swig. "And what would a follower of R'hllor be doing at a Godswood?" Her eyes turned upon him like a bird of prey's, scrutinizing him from behind squinting eyelids.

"I wouldn't know, Lady Ashara." he said, his smile fading away. "I do not pay homage on the Red God."

"A devout follower of The Seven, then. The question remains. Why pay respect to the Gods of the North?" She took two large gulps, downing the rest of the alcohol, surprisingly on her feet for a woman of her age.

"Don't follow the Seven either." Trajan replies, returning his eyes to the near strangled oak. "And any northerner will tell you their gods aren't here. Heart tree isn't a weirwood. The Andals saw to that. Did it occur to you that I might not just enjoy the garden?"

Ashara frowned. "No. People usually do things for a reason." She looked at him. "You don't follow the Seven? Your colors appear to be Blackfyre, and you certainly match the description of The Black Dragon. Who do you worship?"

"Must a man be defined by the gods that he holds?" he asked. "Or lack thereof?"
"You've judged me right. Trajan Blackfyre at your service."

"As stated previously before, Ashara Dayne, at yours. Tell me. If you are truly a Blackfyre, then what do you think of yesterdays... occurances?"

She felt his deafening silence, then looked at the Godswood. "A relic of an age gone by. No more than a shadow." She walked away abruptly, her old legs moving at a surprising pace.

"Some men thrive in the shadow." he said ominously, not sure what to make of this strange woman. He suspected she was drunk as one second she had claimed to be a Redwyne and the next a Dayne.

Rita walks in the Godswood, the two Kingsguard keeping pace behind her. Here at least is peace and quiet for the babe. She stays there awhile, but knows the regeant would not like her keeping the young one out of his chambers for long. Looking down with a certain grimace, she decides to return him to his room.
