"Yes, well it would be quite strange if you had a drink with us while standing, so please sit."
The drinks and the arrival of Ser Simon had put Todric in a good mood, normally he would never share a drink with a Stormlander, especially one of high station.
"We will discuss matters further in private, Ser Simon, but for now enjoy this wonderful place."

"I mean no quarrel, my lords." He watched as the waitress put down the fresh drinks. "There is to be no conflict in the city is what I heard. Any lord who draws a sword and spills blood unwarranted will be considered a traitor to the Iron Throne and," He paused. "executed."

Simon simply nods and then puts his sword to the side of his chair so that the hilt is well within reach should he need it. He takes his drink and swallows a small mouthful. Being in this strange place he decides it's best to follow Lord Tully's lead.

"Is that true? This should be a boring year for me then." He said while taking a drink. "I thought that was the fun of Kingslanding. Every time you come here someone dies. Well, I guess poor Jonnet filled that order."

Gerik smiled. "The Tyrell boy was a fool. Should have taken the black or stayed a thousand leagues away. Instead he decided to call the lord regent a, um, slightly unsettling name." The Red took a sip of his drink. "Now his blood adorns the Red Keep's floor."

"Jonnet Tyrell is dead?" Simon reacted, a little surprised. "And for name calling!" Simon chuckled quietly.
Simon had just arrived in King's Landing so this was all news to him. Now he knew why Lord Tully wanted him around, and no doubt the same went for Lord Baratheon and Ser Connington.

"Well he did get a good insult in, and it seemed all the boy wanted to do was whore around." Todric grinned as he looked around the room. "I can relate with him on that, and in case you forgot the Nights Watch can't have that sort of activity. Give me a good death instead of a lonely life on the coldest place in Westeros."

"The cold isn't that bad when the hearth is warm, Tod." Gerik smirked.
