Jory was alerted of the news of the King’s death almost as soon as it happened. He knew this would be bad. The house relations were unstable as it, and now it seemed the Red God has caused yet another death.
“This is why that freak religion needs to be banished from Westeros.” Jory says to the men he has gathered, slamming his fists down onto the table they are sitting around.
Jory grabs some wine, an oddity to the young man who normally only drinks water, and drinks heavily.
“I would like to know that you men are ready. We could end up fighting here in this very city.” Jory stands up and grabs his shield from the wall of the room; his sword is already attached to his belt. “Let’s go, up up up.”
A couple of the men were around for the jousting so they stood up decently quickly. Jory walks over and kicks the table away, leaving a large enough area in the center of the room. All of the men are Tully guards, so they all already have swords. Jory draws his, and soon enough the others do the same. He points over to the wall with more Tully shields hanging on it, incase others would like a shield as well. Two men do some don’t. Jory shrugs noticing the three that do not have shield.
“You three will be first then. I’ll show you the importance of a good shield.” He says with a smile.
Jory rushes at them, using his quickness to throw them off guard. He battles the three at once. His time with house Clegane had shown him how to handle being out numbered. Todric Tully’s ambush tactics had done the same, leading Jory to never fear numbers. He blocks one man and parries the other, and he uses a combination of his speed and acrobatics to dodge the thirds attacks. It doesn’t seem like the men were ready, and Jory never gave them the chance to gain their balance and form. He makes quick work of them and knocks the three of them to the ground.
“Do you think you’ll be ready when the shadows come? Do you think the Red God minions will give you a chance to strike back?” Jory says in fury.
He turns to the remaining men. “You two are fortunate; I’m giving you the chance to be ready.”
The men look at each other is shock, and then go into their fighting stances. Jory smiles and charges at them with the same speed he used on the others. They are able to defend themselves much better than the other three. It doesn’t seem to faze Jory, he just continues to strike them with all his fury. It seems obvious this is not just a fun practice like the jousting. Jory seems angry and is going full force against his men. It doesn’t take too much longer for Jory to best the men and throw them to the ground.
He stands in the center of the room and sheaths his sword. “Get up! Move this table back!” He says pointing to the one he kicked earlier. “If so much as a hair gets cut from Lord Tully because you men weren’t ready the blame will fall on me.” Jory pours himself some more wine. “Send men to the taverns, the brothels, and the inns I want our men watching everyone. We will be with Lord Tully for the remainder of his stay here, and we will not fail.” Jory says and it is clear the meeting is adjourned.
