Gerold rode up to the gate with his retinue of 50 men. He had decided to go ahead of his host, to observe and improve Highgarden's defenses. He was also very alarmed. What the hell was Tyrell thinking, rebelling against The Targaryens? He rode through the gate, his men following.

Randon Tarly entered Highgarden through the Southern Gate. Outside the walls remained his army of two thousand. He couldn't be sure that the Lord's of the Riverlands, Vale, and Rock would keep the peace, but we'll be ready.
