The days aboard the Petyr’s Pride were always the same, Pod would usually wake in the morning before dawn, take a walk through the deck and then watch the sunrise in Roose's company. By this day the shadowcat was already the size of a mid-grown mastiff pup, it would take a little long for him to reach his full size, perhaps two or three years. After watching the birth of the day, Baelish would have a small breakfast with his sister and then spend the rest of the day doing nothing other than train Roose or perhaps read a book. The training was not as successful as he hoped but at least the cat had learned how to heed some of his lords commands.

Someone knocked at Pod's door, he sat on his cabin reading “The Mating Habits of the Common Puma Concolor". An old book he had been procrastinating to to read since he had found little Roose, though with the lack of books aboard it was his only alternative and now after the half of it he was starting to enjoy the lecture. "Come on in" He said without taking his eyes of the book.
The captain of the Pride, a broad shaggy man, strode into the cabin giving a simple bow. My lord, we have just met with a Tyroshi merchant ship coming from Braavos, I fear the news won’t cheer you up…”
Pod raised his look, and stared deeply at the captain with a raised eyebrow. “Take a seat and explain…” The lord said in a calm inquisitive tone.
The shaggy captain took a seat. “As we met with the other ship, we immediately asked for news about the way… They came with a story about a giant Kraken near the Braavosian Coast…” Pod interrupted the captain.
“Mr. Robert, do you really want me to believe that there’s a Kraken near Braavos?” He kept his deep stare at the captain.
“No… my lo…” Said the captain almost stuttering, when Pod interrupted him again.
“Do you want me to believe that the captain of my most valuable cherished is afraid of a tale about a kraken?” He closed his book and took a sip of wine.
“My lord, I fear not this stories, for that’s what they are…. The problem is the crew, most of them are terrified they won’t sail to Braavos until we have solid news about what’s going on…” He sighed. “They want to make way to Widow’s Watch and then approach Braavos from the North. This would take us, if the winds are kind, two moons…”
Podrick nodded, finally understanding the real problem. “Gather the crew, I’ll talk to them…” He stood up, the captain nodded and he shooed him away. As the captain left he started to search in his clothes his captain outfit.
---
Podrick stood near the helm, wearing his full outfit he even had a buccaneer’s hat, with Roose by his side and his company of twenty men behind him, he’d sent Sansa to his cabin an set two of his best men to guard her, if it came to the worse. The crew stood on the lower deck, some twenty or thirty men. “Do you know why I’m standing here?” he dispatched in his coldest tone. Silence echoed in the ship after his pause. He cleared his throat, “My dear captain here says you fear the image of a kraken disposed for you by a foreign TYROSHI merchant. I ask myself why would thirty seasoned sailors be afraid of a story? Have any of you ever seen a Kraken?”
An old men lacking one eye and most of his teeth raised his voice as Pod gave a pause. “I have seen meself, m’lord, with both me good eye and the one I lost…”
It had been a rethoric question, yet Pod appreciated the man’s answer. “Anyone else?” As no one answered, he continued to speak. “Perfect, we sail on…”
Chaos raged on the lower deck, all the sailors spoke together, but the old one jumped on the middle mast, to stand higher than the other. “M’lord, won’t make we go where we don’t want… We rule this shi…” Thruuuum, a crossbow bolt crossed the man’s throat. Silence then struck again, amused the sailors watched the man’s body falling on the deck’s floor.
“Anyone else?” He repeated. “Only fools believe in these legends… I myself have studied about Krakens, and I say, no Kraken could live in these waters, it’s too cold for them…” It was all a lie he knew nothing about krakens, yet the men were appearing to believe according to their amused faces.
“Now that m’lord said, me have heard no tales about Krakens here… Only down south…” Said one sailor. “Me too…” Said another, murmur raged between the crew.
“See, there’s nothing to fear… Are you really going to believe a men with a green beard?” He laughed. “Back to your posts, we sail on…” As the things got back to normal he turned to the captain. “Get rid of his body, then I hope we won’t have any more troubles like this…”
The travel continued calm as before, and in some few days they arrived in the hidden port of Braavos….
Pod's Persuasion 1/2 to master.
