The eldest daughter of Leman Harlaw, Naomi was raised by her parents aboard the Grey Horse. At a young age, she was taught waterdancing by her mother. She has a fond curiosity for horses, so her mother also taught her to ride. She suspected that her mother had to have been a Lady of some sort, but she was not sure.
The events of her mother's death were told to her by Leman. To avoid the pain of seeing his dead beloved every time her looked into his daughter's face and eyes, Leman built a ship when his daughter came of age, the Grey Lady. Her father sent her out to sea to mature and be his diplomat in trading and diplomacy situations in the Free Cities of Essos.
