Todric arrived at the great hall. Lord Frey allowed him to sit in the high chair as he awaited the Lord Regent's Brother. Jory Lorch stood to his left in a chain mail shirt with a breast plate over it, helm, a shield on his back, and sword on his belt. His shoulders were draped with a cape of Tully colors, covering the shield. There was a table set in front of them with plenty of wine, roast pork, and bread. There was no one else present for the meeting, only guards by the entrance that were instructed to leave when the Blackfyre arrives.

Ser Rhaegel Blackfyre enter the great hall. He was a thin shade of a man, silver haired like his brother with a pointed goatee. A thing longsword hung at his belt, made more for precise and agile movements of a duel than the brutality of battle. He was flanked on either side by a knight carrying the royal banner.

Todric smiled as Ser Raegel entered. "Good to see you, though this is unexpected. I do hope you are here to compete. How are you with a lance? I always love to watch the jousting." Todric quickly blurts out. "Please sit and have some wine and pork."

"You are a gracious host, Lord Todric, and I would relish the chance to test my lance against the best knights in the Riverlands." Ser Rhaegel replied diplomatically. "However, I have come regarding a more pressing matter. I can only assume you missed the raven containing the Lord Regent's royal decree that was sent to Riverrrun, as you were here preparing for these festivities? You have been summoned to court."

"I have not been to Riverrun for sometime, but I do apologise for my maester not sending a raven here or at least a rider to let me know of such an invitation." Todric lied. "Should I bring anything, lemon cakes or some other dessurt? I would hate to be a poor guest."

"It was not an invitation, but a demand of the Crown from its vassals." Ser Rhaegel said sharply in order to emphasise the grave importance of the decree and the repercussions if it was not obeyed. "The Lord Regent has demanded a fosterling from each of the Lord Paramount houses. A great honor for the child you select."
"I have been instructed to see you and the fosterling safely to Kings Landing. I apologise that your tourney will have to be postponed, but am sure the Lord Regent himself will attend and perhaps compete once the realm has been returned to its proper order."

Todric took a drink of wine to try and hide his smile, which he did not do well. "Impossible." He replied with a bit of a laugh in his voice. It seemed likely he would be taken to Kingslanding so he wanted to have some fun, and decided to see Ser Rhaegel's reaction to his one word answer and said no more.

"I fail to see how, Lord Todcric." the Blackfyre knight answered, raising a silver eyebrow. "It would be a great slight to the Crown to ignore this decree and hold a tourney instead of attending court. It would be an insult that could not be ignored. Surely a postponement of these festivities would be preferable to the enmity of the Lord Regent."

"Oh how i would hate to postpone my tournament, but you see the impossible part is the fosterling. I have no children and my youngest sibling is currently married to Stark so i do think he would have a problem with that." Todric replied, finding it convient for the first time to not have an heir

"It had been decided that those lords without a fosterling to offer will be subject to an alternate attendance system." Ser Rhaegel explained evenly. "You will maintain a manor in Kings Landing and spend every other year residing there until you are able to provide a worthy fosterling."
"I recommend we depart soon, my lord. It would be unwise to make the Lord Regent impatient."

"You mean I get to live in the most vile city in Westeroes every other year? How how wonderful, and then I can have a son with a whore from the Shaved Clam and he and the King can grow up together!" Todric said. "Now what year would this be? If I leave with you would the next year be my stay in Kingslanding or are you trying to tell me that leaving with you is basically making myself a prisoner." Todric lost the playful manner that he had been using, this conversation was no longer to his amusement.

"You can discuss that with the Lord Regent upon your arrival, Lord Todric." Rhaegel replied, bristling noticeably at the Riverlord's disrespect. "Though it would be wise to keep your tongue civil around him and remind yourself that this is no trifling matter. See it as an oppurtunity to participate more actively in the governing of the entire realm rather than as an imprisonment. Either way, it is not your place to balk at the commands of the Crown."

"Ah yes, well I would never think to be disrespectful towards MY King. In fact I would throw a tournament in celebration of him. Did you care to notice that only Riverlanders and Northerners were invited to this tournament. Didn't that strike you as odd?" Todric said with a grin returning.

"I would choose your next words carefully, Lord Tully, if you wish to keep your seat." Rhaegel said, his tone still even and calm. "Do not make the same mistake as the recently deceased Lord Tyrell. The Riverlands cannot afford the enmity of the Crown or its dragon. Come to court now and I will not inform my brother of your treasonous words."
