"The Riverlands cannot afford to be ruled over by some crazed man that uses a false God to get what he desires. It is interesting, a cousin has weaseled his way to become King Regent, to a baby. He can rule for years and years." Todric drank more wine and gave a glace to Jory. "Your brother seems to ally himself with the followers of the false God, Rh'llor. He is no King of mine."

"My brother does not follow the Red God." Rhaegel spat, a fervent follower of the Seven himself. "He places the realm above some petty religious dispute. You would choose to swear fealty to the tree worshipping Northern lords than the Targaryens who champuoned the spread the Faith of the Seven accross Westeros? I fail to see the logic there."
"You are correct that my brother is not your king. He is the Lord Regent, representative of your true king until he comes of age. Son of the king you swore an oath to serve. Is Tully honor worth so little? Have you forgotten that Honor is in the words of your house? Do not become an oathbreaker, for the Seven damn them worst of all. I give you one last chance at civility or I will return to my brother with the recommendation to send the dragon to burn you, your keep, and your lands to ash."

"They never sided with the faith during the quarter of a century of war! That is why Tyrell left the Targaryen Kingdom. Honor may be in my house words, but if you know them so well, family comes first. Stark is my brother now." Todric became quite angry at those last words, this Knight could insult Todric's honor all he wanted, but now the man threatened his people. "You dare threaten me here? These are my lands, Blackfyre, and if you hadn't noticed many of the best fighters from the Riverlands and North are here. Do you think your little band of riders are enough to keep you safe as you threaten to burn my lands? The lands most of the men here live on!" Todric stood in anger. Jory reacted as any guard would and drew his sword and took out his shield, though he did not move from his Lord's side.
"I suggest you choose your words wisely. As you say I die by dragon fire either way, so what do I have to lose by making sure you die with me?"

"You stand to lose what little honor you have left, by slaying a guest in your halls that you have provided bread and salt for." Rhaegel replied calmly, picking up a roll from the spread before him and biting into it casually. "I will pray to the Mother to have mercy on your soul and those of your people, for the Crown will have none if you have chosen the path of a traitor. I beseech you again, do not do this. For the sake of those you have sworn to protect. Nothing can stand against dragonfire. Come to court and bend the knee or good men will die on both sides."

Jory, without waiting for any order from Todric, sheathed his sword as soon as the bread was bit into. Todric rolled his eyes. "Ah yes, I did intend for this meeting to be much more civil." He sat back down in his chair. "That was smart of you to eat that bread. Jory would have carved you and your sorry excuse for guards into pieces." He took a moment to gather himself. "King Wilhelm wishes to stay out of these wars, he wrote me that he wanted to stay neutral. You can be sure that is why we didn't strike against you while you were playing around with Tyrell. I will speak with this King regent, and I may even renew that oath if what I hear compells me." Todric took a piece of paper and wrote a quick note on it and then stamped it with his seal. He handed the note to Jory after. "But know, Blackfyre, that if I am not returned home the crownlands will feel the true force of the Riverlands."

"You have my oath as a knight, Lord Todric." Rhaegel replied graciously. " Though there is little reason to insult me or my knights. I had hoped for this meeting to be more civil as well. Shall we depart?"

"Who said I was insulting you? You've never seen Jory's speed. See maybe you should stay for the tournament!" Todric said with a laugh as he stood up and walked with Blackfyre.
Jory did not follow, there were words on the outside of that note aswell, the boy would not be guarding his Lord for the first time in many years.

"After your royal audience in Kings Landing perhaps I will accompany you back and do just that." the Blackfyre knight replied with an easygoing laugh, the earlier unpleasantness forgotten.
