Every so often Jory would sit at the desk in his quarters. He continues to use his old house name of Lorch, even though his Father had disowned him after he stole from and ran from the Cleganes. Jory was the third son either way. His two older brothers would have had to pass away or be killed for him to have ever been able to inherit the Lorch Keep. Regardless, there was no reason for him to hold true to the old Lorch house sigil. Lord Tully did make him a knight, and Knights were allowed to have their own sigil. In recent times he has been toying with the idea of making his own. Keeping the Tully sigil was fine for now, since he was the Captain of the guard, he has always thought it was good to wear the Tully colors for the men. None of that has stopped him from thinking about what he will have as his own. He knew that he would eventually want to have his own keep, hopefully in the Riverlands, and he couldn’t just keep the trout of the Tully’s when that day came. So while he sits at this desk he scribbles and draws what he would like. Sometimes he draws a flying Trout. It usually makes him laugh to see it. It would be nice to remember the Tullys and all they have done for him, with a show of a trout, but that just wouldn’t be him. He wanted an animal that was for sure. He liked hawks, he even used to have one when he was a kid at Clegane’s Keep. He had nursed it back to health after he climbed up some trees to get it down. It had stayed with him after its wing was healed.
Remembering the times of the past as he was drawing different sigils, made Jory want to get out there and climb and jump off things like he used too. He finished up his current drawing, and was pleased with it. He definitely thought he was improving, and maybe next time he sat down like this he would finish a sigil for himself for real.
He dressed himself in some nice loose clothing and headed out. He started his walk down the Tumblestone. He knew a man with a boat that lived along the Tumblestone so he went to him first. The man was a friend so he took Jory across the river at no charge. Jory enjoyed the North side of the river because it had a more dense forest and mountains all around. He could really have some run around here. He started running around and climbing up rocks and trees. He jumped off large boulders. He swung off of tree limbs. He hadn’t been out and really enjoying himself like this since he was a boy. It was also a great workout. He was really enjoying testing out his acrobatics. He found a mountain cottage and looked to see if anyone was home. He found a nice couple living there, and they welcomed the Tully Captain in and they provided him with dinner and a place to sleep for the night.
When he woke, he thanked the family and headed back down the mountain, having fun running and swinging all the way back to the Tumblestone. He was feeling really good and refreshed so he found a slow moving part of the river and elected to swim across. It was tougher than he anticipated, but he made it. It was a long wet walk back to Riverrun, and when he made it he felt great. It was an excellent last two days of just fun stress free roaming.
