"I lost many great men, but thankfully no family." Todric replied, and then thought for a moment. "They did not participate, true enough, but neither did Lord Stark. The Red War was not their war. The Starks fought with me when the Ironborn raided our shores." Todric took another sip. "And now Princess Velena will lead our faith."

"I don't trust the Princess. The child of the Warrior..." He barked a laugh. "Probably her brother's bastard."

"I hoped once she would be Jonnet's wife, but alas, that has slipped between my fingers. Todric," he looked him the eye. "What do you want? Please do tell me, for I will listen."

Lord Tarly arrived at the outside of the solar. He knocked at the door.

"What do I want?" Todric said with a laugh. "You mean what will it take for me to join your little rebellion." Todric finished his glass and poured himself another. Wine was all he truely wanted, he had everything else. He was a Lord Paramount, he never wanted for anything. There was always more though. There was always what other people had. "What I want is the red god and its worshippers out of the seven kingdoms, but I doubt you'll give me that. You may find Baratheon and Martell to tempting as allies. There is one place that will never join you and that is the lands you're rebelling against." Todric couldn't help but smile. "I want the Crownlands, Your Grace."
(OOC I'll use my expert persuasion here, but I doubt a crazy request of that magnitude could just be rolled and settled. Okay so thought about it and since both Leobald and I have expert persuasion, we can do a battle type conversation with three rounds of arguments. With Tybolt and Gerold not only rolling for us, if you two would be so kind, but also weighing in on the arguments to see if there should be any kind of negatives to the rolls. This is all done assuming King Leobald doesn't just want to give me the land that holds the capital city ;-P )

(I'd rather we stop the persuasion rolls on pcs...save them for npcs. But I'll wait for others to weigh in on that first.)
Tybolt shot to his feet. "Outrageous, Tully!" he said, his eyes narrowing to slits. His expression became more genial as he turned to Tyrell. "Your Grace, when I swore to you, I asked for nothing save a position on your council. Master of Coin, chief economist and overseer of gold and trade: an apt job for a Lannister. Tully would bargain with you and take away a large chunk of your new holdings, should we war against the Targaryens. Perhaps loyalty should come first, and rewards for such second." He sneered at Tully again. Old drunked fool, he thought, regarding the riverlands lord as he lifted the glass of arbor gold again and again.

Gerold looked around the room with anger. Everyone wants a slice of the pie.
He stood up, speaking abruptly. "Three monstrously fat men eat at a massive table, piled with the finest of foods. Meat Pies, Roast Mutton. Mushrooms piled in towers, Duck." Gerold stood up, and began to walk around. "Fruits filled with the sweetest juice. Soups, Sauces, Fish, Carrots." He listed the items on his fingers. "A barrel of the finest wine is at their disposal. They. Want. For. Nothing." He spoke the word almost at a whisper.
"The men eat and eat and drink, and still, they hunger. They can't fathom why, but despite all of their food, they are never sated." Gerold knew this would likely offend some of the lords present, but he couldn't stop now.
"One man understands suddenly. He knows what to do. He waddles over to the man next to him, and drunkenly grabs an apple, biting into it ferociously, and feels happy, if only for a moment. Now, there are mountains of the fruit still stacked on this bountiful table, the small theft shouldn't matter. Oh, but it does. It hurts him. You see, that apple washis, it belonged to him, he deserved it. So the chap wants a little revenge, see? He goes back over to where his rival sits, and he takes a piece of meat." Gerold smiled a little.
"The first man gets angry too, and before you know it, an all-out fight breaks out, grabbing, punching, kicking for a few scraps of food. The table wobbles. It's strong wood, though. It can take damage." Gerold shook his head.
"But these are fat men, and they do not. stop. fighting, for what they think belongs to them, even though there's so much to go around. Wobble. Wobble. Wobble." Gerold picked up a clear bauble from the table.
His fingers opened, and the glass shattered on the floor.
"It all comes crashing down, and nobody gets anything."
Gerold looked at Tully with distaste. "You're already one of the most powerful men in Westeros. You don't need more."

He thought for a moment. "Gerold the door. Now. Todric, I will not give you the Crownlands, I am not sorry about that. Now, I have two unmarried sons and positions in my Kingsguard. I heard your Jory is quite the formidable knight. I also have wine. Lots and lots of wine."

Todric's joyous mood quickly went away at the King's words. "You would take the captain of my guard away from me? Oh how kind of you." Todric looked over at Jory and saw he was clearly toying with the idea. "You couldn't handle the celibasy, boy." He quickly said shutting down Jory before he could even speak. "And as Hightower so elegantly put it I want for nothing. I can't be had by offering wine.... no I don't think you can offer me anything." Todric stood up. "I came to your keep to hear you reasons and then came to your solar to hear your words, but now I have heard enough. I do not plan to fight you, Leobald, unless you force me to, but I will not join you."

Lannister smirked into his wine. Of course he wouldn't join, the old fool...

Gerold looked at The Riverlord with no emotion in his eye. "Unless he is sure to go against us, killing him will likely have more problems than benefits. His sister is married to Lord Stark. Killing him might drive The North And The Riverlands against us."

Todric laughed. "Yes, it certainly would drive the Riverlands against you that much I know for sure." Todric moved to leave, killing him would be a huge mistake for this new king, but Todric still didn't want to stick around to see if he would make it. "Thank you for the wine once again, Your Grace. I can only hope that the next time we meet it is as allies and not enemies." Todric gave him a bow. He had probably insulted Tyrell enough today and thought he at least deserved a proper bow, after all they were friends once but may not be after this meeting. Todric signaled for Jory to do the same.
(OOC - Todric would wait for any remarks, but assuming no one stops him from leaving you can carry on as if he is not there.)

He sighed. "Before you go my lord, take a casket of wine out of my personal stores. There is an extremely nice vintage of from the Arbor down there. I shall expect a raven soon from you." he turned to his other lords. "Call your banners and I'll call mine. It is time for war."

"That is most generous of you, Your Grace, I will happily take the vintage." Todric said as he came up from the bow. "I will make sure to send you a raven before the year has ended." Todric smiled before he left. Tyrell already wanted to call his banners. He certainly was ready to jump back into battle, and that was something Todric wanted to avoid.
