I can make a second character, yes? If so, is there anything I need to do different when creating him? I'd like to be one of the Tyrell bannerman... I have my eye on House Tarly.

Post by Ulrick Sand on Oct 22, 2012 18:06:20 GMT -5
Name: Ulrick Sand
Age: 24
Region: Dorne
Skills:
-Expert: Longsword -Expert: Athletics -Noteworthy: Diplomacy -Noteworthy: Spears -Apprentice: Observation -Apprentice: Battle -Novice: Horsemanship -Novice: Bows -Beginner: Writing -Beginner: History
Biography: Born in 365 AL, the year in which the civil war broke out in Westeros.
Ulrick's true lineage is unknown, though it is mostly rumored that he is the bastard son of a Dayne and a riverlander who was taken in battle. Regardless, from his birth, Ulrick found himself raised by a Red Priest in Sunspear. As a result, he is very devoted to R'hllor.
Though it was originally intended for Ulrick to become a Red Priest in his own right, he began to show a proficiency with the blade at a very young age. He practiced, mostly on his own, with the longsword until by age 16, he was already as capable as most knights.
It was likely this dedication that lead to Ulrick's ascension through the ranks, and being named captain of the guard in Sunspear by age 20, a title he has held onto ever since.
In his time as captain of the guard, Sunspear has seen a decrease in crime, though many people have complained that Ulrick's devout faith in R'hllor has clouded his judgement on several occasions.
Appearance: Olive skin, though with a head of curled light brown hair which comes to his shoulders, not usual for those living in Dorne, with a clean shaven face. He is quite tall, just over six feet in height, with a moderately muscular build. Many have remarked that he is quite handsome, though it is said that he has never lain with a woman.
Reputation: Ulrick is well-known for his skill with the blade. He is fast, and deadly with a longsword. He is also known as an honorable, pious and mostly just man, but never a clever one.

Post by Maester Cordin on Oct 22, 2012 19:21:57 GMT -5
Name: Maester Cordin
Age: 23
Region: Casterly Rock, Westerlands
Byname: (Formerly) Cordin Snow, Cordin Pyke
Skills:
Expert: Government Expert: Economics Noteworthy: Healing Noteworthy: Observance Apprentice: History Apprentice: Warfare Novice: Axes Novice: Diplomacy Beginner: Animal Handling Beginner: Knowledge (Magic)
Background: On one of his raids to Bear Island during the War of Gods, Lord Greyjoy kidnapped one of the daughters of House Mormont. She spent months with him at sea as his personal concubine, and even grew fond of him. For in exchange for captured ironmen she was shipped home to her father with a belly so round it could only one thing. Although Lord Mormont knew it was a raider's bastard, his daughter kept her lover's name secret. She feared her father would not would never want to raise the bastard of a Greyjoy.
In his early years, Cordin knew a life of humble enjoyment. While he never felt any affection from his Lord Grandfather or the luxuries of being highborn, he never needed. Access to the Castle library and his mother's kisses were enough to keep the young lad happy. On his 7th nameday the House agreed to a modest feast. After two flagons of wine and a bit of affection from her father, Cordin's mother felt it would be acceptable to reveal his parentage. Upon this Lord Mormont grew furious, declared he was not even a Snow, but a Pyke, and made arrangements to send the boy to the Iron Islands. Within a day he was torn from his mother, both weeping.
His time on his father's land made Cordin feel quite the alien. On his first day he was drowned by a shaggy priest without full knowledge as to why. His father was cold to him, but determined to make him a man. While Cordin preferred a book, his father would usually force an ax in his hand instead. Although his strength was modest and his swing was swift, it was clear the boy was no raider. One by his 12th nameday, it his father made a difficult decision. There was too much of the North in him to be a Drowned priest and there was no use for a diplomat on the Iron Isles, so despite his family's distaste for the Grey rats he sent his son to Oldtown to forge his chain. Not without instructions though...
Once there Cordin forged links in Warcraft, healing, history, ravenry, and economics. He even began to study the mystery of magic, though abandoned the cause due to the stigma that came with it. His chain made him the most suitable Maester to send to Casterly Rock, despite his young age. His knowledge and advice has proven to be quite useful though most there don't know about his past. Some know his is a bastard and even those don't know if he was a Pyke or Snow. None know if he follows the Old Gods or the Drowned God, or any at all.
Appearance: Slight build and average height. His light brown hair is kept shaggy and unkempt, though it doesn't need to it's so straight. He'll tell you his eyes are blue though they look more akin to grey. His right hand his missing most of his ring finger after a mishap dancing with an ax. This is replaced by the same digit from an ornately armored glove (for which he payed the iron price.)
Reputation: The fact that little of his background is known is note really noted by most. Highborn don't care where their Maester is from so long as he can advise them, which he does exceptionally. He's known to be happiest with a book in his hand or telling one of his famous dirty jokes. To his Lord he's known to help in the way of diplomacy, (by more than just sending ravens.)

Post by Iron King Vickon Greyjoy on Oct 23, 2012 6:34:42 GMT -5
This sounds like fun. Any chance of...?
1) Character Name: Vickon Greyjoy (Pyke)
2) Character Age: 16
3) Character Region: Iron Islands
4) Character Skills:
Expert: Axe Expert: Ambush Noteworthy: Bows Noteworthy: Disguise Apprentice: Athletics Apprentice: Naval Novice: Concealment Novice: Observation Beginner: Stealth Beginner: Persuade
5) Character Biography
The son of Lord Harris Greyjoy and one of his saltwives, Vickon Greyjoy was auspiciously born on the same day as his father became Lord of the Iron Islands. Although not truly a Greyjoy, Vickon is able to claim the name due to Lord Harris' lack of a Rockwife and any legitimate heirs. Vickon is widely regarded as heir to the Iron Islands. Lord Harris took an involved hands-on approach in educating Vickon, taking him reaving from a young age. This has resulted in Vickon being very similar to his father in many aspects of mannerisms and character. From a young age, Vickon heard stories of the great Greyjoy's of old and this has inspired him to be very ambitious. In particular Vickon idolizes the Greyjoy's that fought during the War of the Five Kings. He prays to the Drowned God that he may have the boldness of Balon, the cunning of Euron, the strength of Victarion and the piety of Aeron, all of whom are legends in Vickon's eyes. Spending the majority of his life on the Iron Islands or the deck of a ship, Vickon has rarely visited the mainland of Westeros and the customs and religions that exist there are largely foreign to him.
6) Character Appearance
In all aspects Vickon looks just like his father. He is tall and muscular, though not as large as his father due to his youth. His eyes are deep grey and his hair is black, long and unkempt. Unlike his father however, Vickon remains clean-shaven.
7) Character Reputation
Vickon is most well renowned among the Ironborn for his skill at arms. Primarily utilizing a war axe, he is also a noteworthy archer. Although Vickon is recognised as the son and heir of Harris Greyjoy, he is mocked by some for being born of a Saltwife, being mockingly called "Pyke" by those that hold him in contempt. It is unsure what shall happen to Vickon's standing as a Greyjoy should his father acquire a legitimate heir.

Okay, since people are bugging me to start, You will be sent to Kings Landing ahead of your father, who I hope will arrive soon. If that is alright you will still need to work things over with the person who is to make the Greyjoy Lord. I will approve you.

Post by Lord Trajan Blackfyre on Oct 23, 2012 21:10:17 GMT -5
Name: Trajan Blackfyre Region: Crownlands (Dragonstone) Age: 21 (b. 368) Byname: The Black Dragon, The Heretic Character Skills: Expert-Sword (Bastard Sword) Expert-Intrigue Noteworthy-Battle Command Noteworthy-Persuasion Apprentice-Lance Apprentice-Horsemanship Novice-Shadowbinding Novice-Blood Magic Beginner-Language (High Valyrian) Beginner-Language (Asshai'i) Character Personal History: Trajan Blackfyre was born in 368, the eldest son of Lord Damon Blackfyre and heir to Dragonstone. Under the tutelage of his famed general of a father, the young man proved a quick learner of the sword, lance, and battle. But the young heir desired more. He hungered for true power, the kind that made skill with a blade and command of an army pale in comparison. On his 15th nameday, Trajan set out on a journey to the east to achieve his goal. His expedition took him the ruins of Old Valyria and as far east as the Shadow Lands of Asshai. Under the dark and solemn Asshai'i he learned talents no mortal man should know; studying the black magics under accomplished spellsingers, aeromancers, warlocks, and shadowbinders. When he returned to Dragonstone five years later, Trajan was a changed man. Though he kept up with the duties his father expected from him as heir, he began practicing his new gifts in the bleak dungeons underneath the fortress. During the war of the faiths, he harbored contempt for the Seven, seeing their followers lack of arcane power as proof of the religion's weakness. In the chaos of the conflict, he busied himself developing a masterful spy network and honing his dark powers. Character Physical Description: Trajan stands tall and lean, a handsome man with the striking silver hair and violet eyes of those with Targaryen blood. Character Reputation: Trajan Blackfyre is known as an accomplished swordsman, competent general, and promising jouster. Though on the surface he appears the perfect lordling, dark rumors follow the heir to Dragonstone. Rumors abound of sinister arcane rituals being performed in the dungeons of Dragonstone, those spreading them usually vanishing in the night. His network of spies supposedly is only outdone by the king's own Master of Whispers, the Black Dragon's shadow spreading far and wide.
